The NATO Spring Academy held successfully (Day 1)

 

13-14 of May in Dnepropetrovsk. The project implemented in cooperation centers of Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine under the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine.

1st day: International Security and the Role of NATO

Session І. Historical beginnings of NATO as a military-political alliance of countries

Session ІІ. The transformation of the Alliance as a process of NATO adaptation to changes in international situation

 

Session III. NATO expansion: the role and experience of the countries

Workshops and seminars. Participants divided into groups for seminars professional principles. Work in this seminar session will be organized in the form of debate - answer questions according to topics of lectures on the first day. The purpose of these studies is to determine awareness and knowledge of the material on the “History and Structure of NATO”. All lecturers first day Academy gradually visit all three seminar group members had the opportunity to put questions to the lecturer. The basic idea of separation into groups is that all participants had the opportunity to ask questions. It's easier to do in smaller audience.

Workshops and seminars. Presentation preparation. Center Euro-Atlantic Integration in Dnipropetrovs’k will prepare tasks and material for presentations. All seminar groups will be provided facilities and technical means for making presentations on the following topics:

Seminar # 1 – “Relations between Ukraine - NATO and Areas of Cooperation” (as university professors in this field are mainly political scientists and historians)

Seminar # 2 – “History and Structure of NATO” (because school’s teachers are working in historical aspect)

Seminar # 3 – “Sources of Information about NATO and Public Diplomacy” (as graduate students are prospective employees not only educational institutions but also NGOs

Heads of each group will correct the process of creating presentations and providing professional advice.
